Argentina's Q1 grain exports at 13 million tonnes

 

 

Argentina exported 12.99 million tonnes of grains and sub-products during the first quarter of the year, according to the Agriculture Secretariat.

 

Wheat exports during the quarter totalled 3.73 million tonnes, the Secretariat said in a press release released late Friday (May 11). Brazil was the primary market for wheat exports, buying 1.79 million tonnes.

 

Soymeal exports totalled 5.38 million tonnes, with Spain leading imports with 870,000 tonnes, followed by Italy with 570,000 tonnes and Holland with 420,000 tonnes, according to the Secretariat.

 

Corn exports were 1.9 million tonnes, with Peru purchasing 220,000 tonnes, South Africa 210,000 tonnes and Spain 180,000 tonnes.

 

Soybean exports totalled 360,000 tonnes, with the bulk of exports (290,000 tonnes) going to China, the Secretariat reported.

 

Soyoil exports during the period totalled 1.12 million tonnes, with China purchasing 380,000 tonnes. South Korea and India each bought 100.000 tonnes of soyoil from Argentina during the first quarter.
