Bangladesh scientists invents way to detect formalin in fish
Bangladeshi scientists have recently invented a new method to detect formalin in fish in 30 seconds, local newspaper The Independent reported Friday (May 11).
Formalin is a banned substance used for preserving fish.
The new "Formalin Detection Kit" is easier and faster than the previous methods.
The kit would test the water used to wash the fish for fomalin.
Presence of formalin is indicated if the water turns red within 30 seconds.
