USDA: 550,000 tonnes corn sold to South Korea

The US Department of Agriculture announced Friday (May 11) private export sales of 550,000 tonnes of US corn for delivery to South Korea.

The USDA said that of that total, 495,000 tonnes are for delivery in the 2006/07 marketing year and 55,000 tonnes are for delivery in the 2007/08 marketing year.

The corn marketing year begins Sep 1.

US exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tonnes or more of corn made in the same day to the same destination by 3:00 pm EDT the next business day, according to the USDA.
