Russian meat imports up 18.6 percent on-year in Q1 2007
Russia's meat imports rose 18.6 percent on the year to 251,500 tonnes in January-March, the Federal Customs Service said Friday (May 11), Prime-Tass news agency reported.
Meat imports from outside the Commonwealth of Independent States were 244,900 tonnes. No comparison was provided.
Russia's poultry imports were at 228,800 tonnes in January-March, down 7.7 percent on the year.
In 2006, Russia's meat imports rose 3.5 percent on the year to 1.31 million tonnes, the Federal Customs Service said earlier.
