Chinese government to help pig, poultry sectors
The Chinese government has interceded to prop up pork prices and announced new measures to help the poultry industry cope with the fallout from the on-going avian flu scare.
After a State Council meeting headed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang this week, the government said more pork would be stockpiled in state reserves in an attempt to stabilise the market.
