Pakistan and Italy to cooperate in agriculture sector

During his recent visit to Pakistan, Italian Ambassador Vincenzo Prati, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to focus on cooperation in different sectors of mutual interest, including agriculture, livestock and food processing.

The Chief Minister while welcoming the Ambassador, said Pakistan needs foreign investment in various sectors and investors should come forward for this purpose.

He said the provincial government is paying special attention to water supply projects and invites Italian cooperation in this sector. A roadmap will be evolved for cooperation in different sectors and will be implemented expeditiously, he added.

The Italian Ambassador said Italy will extend cooperation for the development of various sectors in Punjab and the recommendations of joint group constituted for this purpose will be implemented. He said Italy would set up business associations in Lahore, Multan and other cities for promoting cooperation.
