Vietnam to invest US$3.78 billion for fishery development by 2020
                                        


The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said its Vietnam's fishery development strategy by 2020 which will cost around VND67.34 trillion or US$3.78 billion.

 

The funds will be spent on carrying out 20 programs, including developing stable aquatic product exploitation, protecting and developing aquatic resource and developing science technology for fishery.

 

The ministry said they are targeting US$7 billion in seafood export revenue in 2020, with average growth rate of 3.15 percent yearly; and aquatic output at 6.5 million tonnes.

 

Vietnam is now among top ten seafood exporters in the world, with products being exported to 150 countries and territories worldwide.
