ChemGen feed company buys manufacturing plant

ChemGen Corp., a US biotechnology company that produces natural feed additives for chicken and pig digest food, has announced its purchase of a long-empty manufacturing plant in Terre Haute, Indianapolis.

The plant was formerly owned by New Jersey-based Alpharma Inc., which had planned to use it for the manufacturing of a pig growth hormone, but was not pushed through.

ChemGen targets to operate in the 67,000-square-foot building for its feed additives operations by the end 2008.
