China to conduct nationwide spot checks on grain stockpiles
China's ten departments will jointly launch nationwide spot checks on grain stockpiles, Nie Zhenbang, director of the State Administration of Grain said Monday (May 11).
According to Nie, the spot checks aim to clarify the condition of the national grain reserves and facilitate further grain management.
The spot checks will be carried out by ten departments which include the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Supervision, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, National Audit Office and State Administration of Grain.
It is scheduled to begin from mid-May in the ten major grain-producing provinces of Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan, Guangdong, Sichuan and Shaanxi.
