JF Equipment develops poultry processing machinery
JF Equipment, one of South Africa's leading manufacturers of poultry processing machinery, is developing evisceration equipment for slaughterhouses.
To reduce the costs of ownership for slaughterhouse operators, JF Equipment is developing a line of evisceration equipment, which would be designed, manufactured and installed through local expertise.
The first of the machines would be available in late 2008 and it is an inside outside washer designed to reduce the cost of ownership for slaughterhouses.
The goal is to offer slaughterhouse owners quality products that are cost-effective and efficient, said Pat Young, sales director of the company.
Other machineries to be developed include the Vent Cutter that removes the complete cloacal sphincter without breaking the intestine; the Opening Machine that makes an incision from the nose to the keel bone; the Eviscerator that removes the contents in the abdominal cavity; the Cropper that removes the crop, trachea and neck glands; and the Neck Breaker that breaks the necks of poultry.
The aim of the new design is to improve ease of maintenance, make parts cheaper and to allow complete cleaning. Hollow units supporting segmented synthetic cam units have replaced cam drums normally found in the machines.
