Bird flu hits Poland again
Polish veterinary officials have reported a new case of the highly pathogenic H5N1 strain of bird flu in the central Warta region.
Authorities set up an observation zone with a 10-kilometre radius around the area where the dead swan was discovered. Health inspectors also carried out checks on nearby poultry farms as a precaution.
Poland's first reported case of the H5N1 bird flu virus was in March.
