Corn prices generally stable in China; significant price falls seen in the eastern regions (May 12, 2005)
An eFeedLink exclusive report
Corn prices in China were generally stable early this week, with prices in the north-eastern production regions continuing to hover at high levels amid light trade.
At the Yellow / Huai River production regions, prices of corn slipped marginally in recent days due to the outbreak of livestock diseases. Corn prices remained weak in the southern consumption regions, while increased supplies in eastern China caused prices to fall significantly.
