China's May soy imports may touch 5.7 million tonnes

The May soy imports of China will possibly touch 5.7 million tonnes, more last month's estimate of 5.2 million tonnes, the China National Grain and Oils Information Center (CNGOIC) announced on Thursday (May 10).

The state backed think-tank also predicted the country's soy imports would continue to rise over the next two months.

China imported 4.83 million tonnes of soy in March, a jump of 38% from the same period of last year.

China's General Administration of Customs is scheduled to release the April imports and exports data this week.
