Ukrainian grain export to reach 20 million tonnes by 2012
Ukraine is likely to export between 18 million to 20 million tonnes of grain in the 2011-2012 marketing year, according to local company AK-Inform.
Wheat exports could total 7-9 million tonnes and corn exports four million tonnes in the 2011-2012 marketing year.
According to the USDA's Kiev attache, wheat exports from Ukraine could reach nine million tonnes in the 2011-12 season more than two-and-a-half times as much as this season.
But, for the current marketing year, "our analysis of supply and demand shows the balance of grain until the end of 2010-11 will see Ukraine carry over two million tonnes of corn," Sinkovskaya said.
Ukraine last month said it won't renew grain export quotas on July 1.
Ukraine introduced grain export restrictions in October, citing food security after a heatwave and drought reduced the harvest. In January, quotas were expanded and prolonged to March 31.
