Cambodian firm QSR joins RGC in broiler deal
QSR Brands Bhd has just signed a deal with Royal Group of Co Ltd (RGC) to form a joint venture in operating broiler and processing production in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The initial paid-up capital for the joint venture is US$300,000, with QSR holding a 51% stake and RGC owning the remaining 49%.
QSR said that having its own broiler farms will allow the group to manage its own raw material cost and increase profitability. It will also enable the group to be self-sufficient in their chicken supplies and take necessary steps to fulfil good manufacturing practice requirements. Apart from this, the group will also be able to control price fluctuations.
QSR holds the master franchise to operate KFC and PH restaurants in Cambodia.
