Russia confirms H5N1 bird flu in wild ducks of Altai region
Samples taken from a wild duck in the Uglovsky district and from two wild ducks in the Khabarsky district of the Russian Altai region have shown the presence of anti bodies to the H5N1 strain of bird flu, according to the regional veterinary control office.
All domestic poultry in the two districts has been vaccinated and the population is banned from letting their poultry out of their houses.
