Japanese Ministry Checks Fish Labels At Retailers

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Japan began a special inspection nationwide Monday to check whether supermarkets and other retailers are appropriately labeling wild and cultured fish.

If serious labeling violations are found, the ministry will make public the names of violators under the Japan Agriculture Standards Law, ministry officials said
