Bird flu found in Italian turkeys is low-risk
Health officials in Italy have announced that the 10 flocks diagnosed with bird flu do not have the deadly form of the disease, but the low-risk H5N2 strain. Though not hazardous, Italy has culled 180,000 turkeys to be sure.
Russia has since stopped all imports of Italian turkeys, including heat-treated poultry meat.
