Tulderhof develops X-Stream air inlet for poultry housing

Tulderhof Agrosystems has developed X-Stream, an air inlet system, equipped with a versatile inlet valve.

Fitted with multiple winch motors, the system is a 3-in-1 apparatus which involved phased opening of its three inlets, each dependant on only one winch motor. This creates a deeper throw of air while using minimum ventilation. The inlet can guide air directly at poultry livestock through maximum ventilation.

The X-Stream allows two methods of closing through a simple spring adjustment. The standard setting enables spring closing of the inlet and can be adjusted to spring opening.

The inlet works by initially opening at the top, sending all incoming air into the ridge. After a set time, it opens at the bottom, deflecting part of the air downwards to create a rolling airflow effect. The method is patented by Tulderhof.

The X-Stream is manufactured from durable plastic. The 40mm thick frame is filled with high grade expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation, resulting in a strong insulation value.
