Brazil's JBS SA has agreed to pay BRL200 million (US$100 million) to buy about 491,000 hogs and an industrial unit for processing them from local rival BRF SA.

JBS will pay BRL80 million (US$40 million) for the pigs and BRL120 million (US$60 million) for the Unidade Industrial Ana Rech processing unit and farm properties in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state.

The industrial unit can process about 3,500 hogs per day, the company said.
