Tajikistan imports US$90-million wheat, flour

Tajikistan largely increased imports of wheat and flour volumes in Q1 2012, amounting to almost US$90 million, according to the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In particular, wheat import volumes totaled nearly 191.8 thsd tonnes at the sum of over US$41 million. Flour import volumes totaled 134.1 thsd tonnes at the sum of US$41.8 million.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the country, during several years the general production volumesof grains in the country exceed the level of one million tonnes.
