China's CNGOIC ups 2007 wheat output forecast, cuts rapeseed
The China National Grain and Oils Information Centre has raised its 2007 forecast for wheat acreage and output but cut its outlook for rapeseed.
In its monthly report issued Wednesday, the government think-tank said it maintains its forecast for acreage and output of soybeans and corn.
CNGOIC also raised its forecast for paddy output by 81,000 tonnes.
It said the weather in March and April had a negative impact on wheat output, and the final output figure depends on the weather toward the harvest season in June.
In its report, CNGOIC raised its grain output estimates for 2006 as well.
CNGOIC is affiliated with the State Grain Administration, responsible for providing cereals market information for China's policy makers.
