PHARMAQ AS expands its global aquatic health portfolio

Norway's PHARMAQ has signed a distribution agreement with the German Leiber GmbH, a competent partner in the segment of yeast products and immune stimulation, for its global aquaculture customer base.
"PHARMAQ is very happy to add the quality products from Leiber GmbH to its portfolio. It will make a basis for early entry into new geographies and species, as well as strengthening the relationship with customers in our present markets," said Jan Oppen Berntsen, director of feed products and equipment at PHARMAQ AS.
For 60 years, Leiber GmbH, located in Bramsche in Lower Saxony, has been one of the leading manufacturers of specialist yeast products. The natural raw material brewers' yeast is processed using a biotechnological method to form high-quality products which are used in the areas of animal nutrition, food, food supplements and biotechnology.
"Our customers are found in the salmonid, tilapia, pangasius, sea bass/bream as well as the shrimp segments of the global aquaculture industry. By adding a high quality beta-glucan manufactured by Leiber to our PHARMAQ product portfolio, we will support unspecific immunity to products administered by the oral route," said Berntsen.
