Broiler price rebound fails to strengthen China methionine market

Prices of methionine dipped further during the week ending May 7.

Trade was light during and after May Day holidays. Feed millers limited purchase while the poultry industry continued to be troubled by the H7N9 bird flu epidemic.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine were lower at RMB28-28.50/kg.

Methionine buyers will continue to stay prudent and limit stockpiles to be on the safe side.
