Queensland poultry farmers suffering from vaccination

Poultry vaccinations are hindering producers, according to the Queensland Egg Farmers Association.

Association spokeswoman Ivy Inwood said producers are forced to vaccinate chickens for diseases not present in Queensland, and the vaccination costs are putting a significant weight on smaller producers.

It is a cost to the grower, and small growers do not do vaccinations like commercial growers do, she said.

For the small growers, things should be made easier for them if they have to vaccinate, she added.
