Vietnam reports most recent bird flu outbreak
Vietnam disclosed the latest bird flu outbreak which has stricken fowl flocks in the southern Can Tho city over the past few days.
The total number of affected localities has been raised to three, the Department of Animal Health said Thursday.
The affected areas are northern Son La province, southern Vinh Long province and southern Can Tho city, the department said.
The most recent bird flu outbreak in Vietnam has so far killed 1,131 poultry, including 1,070 chickens raised by a household in the city's Phong Dien rural district.
Local veterinary officials on Wednesday culled the remainders of 829 healthy fowls in the affected flocks to prevent the disease's spread.
