Jordan tenders to buy 120,000 tonnes US wheat

Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry said Saturday (May 6) it is tendering to buy 120,000 tonnes of US wheat.

"The tender is taking place as part of the PL480 programme through our agents in Washington DC, Fettig and Donalty," Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry, told Dow Jones Newswires.

The first 50,000 tonnes are for delivery from Jun 15-30, the second 50,000 tonnes for delivery from Jul 5-20 while the remaining 20,000 tonnes are for delivery from Jul 25 to Aug 10, he said.

Deadline for bids is 3 pm, Washington local time on May 17.
