South Korea firm keen to support Vietnam's agri exports

Coman Corp. wishes to support Vietnamese firms to boost exports of foodstuff and farm produce to South Korea, said the president of the South Korean company, Stanley Park.

Park highly valued Vietnam's foodstuff and farm produce, noting that South Korea is a major market importing those goods in the Asia-Pacific region. However, he said Vietnamese products have not gained a foothold in the South Korea market.

Stanley Park urged that Vietnamese enterprises focus on exporting products suitable to Korean favourites and enhance close linkage to South Korea importers.

Statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Trade showed that Vietnam exported US$480 million worth of foodstuffs and farm produce to South Korea last year, making up only 2.3% of the country's total foodstuff import.
