Ukraine meat processors raise output 10.7 percent in March
                             

 

In March, Ukrainian meat processing enterprises raised production of meat and by-products by 10.7 percent or 6,982 tonnes to 72,464 tonnes, compared with February, according to local news reports.

 

In March 2009, production of meat and by-products of the first category fell by 4.8 percent or 3,676 tonnes, compared with March 2008.

 

In January-March 2009, production of meat and by-products of the first category fell by 9.6 percent or 21,868 tonnes, compared with January-March 2008, to 206,149 tonnes.

 

According to earlier local media reports, in February, meat processing enterprises reduced production of meat and by-products of the first category by 5 percent or 3,449 tons to 65,482 tonnes, compared with January.

 

In 2008, compared with 2007, production of meat and by-products of the first category rose by 1.2 percent or 10,714 tonnes to 925,800 tonnes.
