Argentina's 2006/07 corn sales at 10.555 million tonnes

 

 

As of May 4, Argentina had sold 10.555 million tonnes of 2006/07 (March-February) corn for export, according to the Agriculture Secretariat's latest data.

 

Last Monday, the Agriculture Secretariat announced the reopening of the corn export registry, which was closed in November due to soaring export declarations.

 

However, the government has delayed accepting new export commitments. The export numbers are unchanged since November.

 

By this time last year Argentina had sold 3.85 million tonnes of 2004/05 corn.

 

Each figure represents thousands of tonnes sold.
