Ukrainian grain production to increase massively
The grain output in Ukraine will rise drastically this year after a severe drought which took place last summer, according to the senior economist and analyst of the grain market at the UN Food Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
According to FAO employee Abdolrez Abbassian, agricultural raw markets need control to a certain extent to have a chilling effect on speculators and to stabilise the prices.
According to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry forecasts, the grain yield in Ukraine in 2011 will make up over 43 million tonnes.
