Brazil soy exports record high in April

Brazil exported a record high 4.49 million tonnes of soy in April, according to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade on Monday (May 4).

Farmers have expedited their sales in order to take advantage of good international prices and of the favourable exchange rate.

Part of the result was prompted by Chinese demand. The previous record was in May 2008, of 4.44 million tonnes.
