Vietnam Fish Haul Estimated At 478,000 Tons In 2004
An estimated 132,000 tons of sea products were caught in Viet Nam in April 2004, according to the Ministry of Fisheries.
Thus, in the first four months, nearly 478,000 tons of fish and other animals were netted from the sea. This makes up 32.9 percent of this year's target, a 1.86 percent increase over the same period the year before.
The ministry said, however, the catch was of a poor quality due to the obsolete fishing technology.
