Malaysia freezes pork imports on H1N1 flu fears
Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture & Agro-Based Industry has temporarily frozen the issuance of new permits to import pork to prevent A/H1N1 influenza virus from spreading to the country, Deputy Minister Datuk Mohd Johari Baharum said.
Baharum said that there are several companies with a permit to import pork and we will monitor them closely at the moment.
He said the companies imported pork from countries including the US, China and Vietnam.
