Next on the menu: Salmon hot dogs
A major fish farming company is investing US$8 million to come up with a hot dog made from salmon meat.
Mega fish-farming giant Gustav Witzoe said it believes putting millions into making salmon dogs is a wise investment because the food will please parents by giving children a healthy meal, Aftenposten reported.
The drive towards salmon hot dogs is timely due to the falling cost of export salmon, the state central statistics bureau said.
The company's past efforts include making salmon balls and salmon burgers that taste like fish, but the salmon hot dogs could be made to taste like traditional ones to appeal to children, the company said.
