Philippines has new measure for protection against bird flu
Although the Philippines has been successful in staying free of bird flu, it will be introducing a new measure to keep the spread of bird flu from entering its borders.
The new measure, which was introduced at the Bird Flu Summit held at Davao City this week, is called the Avian Influenza Protection Program or AIPP and will be jointly operated by the Department of Health and Department of Agriculture. It involves dividing the country into seven or nine zones, so that should one zone be affected, it will be contained or isolated from the rest of the country.
