Tyson Foods assures pork products safe
                                     

 

Tyson Foods has said that its pork products are safe, in the midst of the H1N1 influenza outbreak.

 

The company said in statement that US pigs have not been infected with this hybrid influenza and preliminary investigations have determined that none of the people infected with the hybrid flu had contact with hogs, according to reports by National Pork Producers Council.

 

Tyson Foods pork processing operations or hog farms do not operate in Mexico.

 

In the company's statement it further added that it is taking measures to tighten its current biosecurity protocols to protect hogs from this virus, according to National Pork Board recommendations.

 

The company has four pork processing plants in the US - in Iowa, Nebraska and in Indiana.
