Survey says more than half of Koreans to patronize US beef

Fifty six percent of consumers in South Korea said they intend to buy imported American beef and agricultural products once the free trade agreement with the US takes effect, according to a survey.

The survey, conducted in 1,000 people, also said fifty-five percent said they will also buy American farm products and 43 percent said they'll buy American cars.

Last month, Seoul and Washington concluded free trade talks and the agreement awaits parliamentary approval from the two countries.

The majority of respondents said they're satisfied with the deal as it will broaden options for consumers but also expressed apprehension on the potential negative impact on domestic industries.
