Martins stated the programme Support for Agriculture and Fisheries of Piaui aimed to strengthen fish farming which was started in 10 dams in the state. A total amount of BRL 2.8 million (US$1.4 million) has been invested by the state, towards the purchase of cages, fish food, floats, scales, motor boats, and other tools that foster the development of fish farming.
