Nigeria Customs reiterates ban on frozen poultry
Frozen poultry remains a prohibited good and should not be imported into Nigeria, says the country's comptroller of Customs, Federal Operations Unit, Zone C' Owerri, Victor David Dimka .
Dimka made the remark after supervising the destruction of 607 cartons of impounded frozen poultry.
The comptroller, said the contraband goods with a Duty Paid Value of NGN6,191,400 (US$39,186) was imported from Brazil and was intercepted along Owerri/Aba road on April 28. He said the product was banned by the import provision list under Selma Section 46 of 45 of 2004.
