Vietnam's Anco Group opens animal feed plant in Ha Nam

Vietnam's leading feed producer Anco Group has opened on April 27 a US$4 million feed processing plant at Dong Van IP in northern Ha Nam province.

Situated on two-hectare area, the factory's designed total capacity is 150,000 tonnes of products per annum to ensure safe animal feed for the northern region.

Anco was established in 2006, but is viewed as an emerging player since its key stakeholders are giants operating in related sectors like confectionery, dairy, and beverages under the brand names ANCO, A&M and Guinness.

Anco is also operating a confectionery factory in Ha Tay province, and is mulling another deal to take over a beverage firm. The company has recently taken over a Nestle Vietnam dairy subsidiary, Ba Vi Dairy Products Company, for an undisclosed sum.

Nguyen Hong Mai, director for external relations of Anco Group, said the company is seeking to build its own brand like Kido's in the future, referring to Kinh Do Group's successful buyout of Wall's Ice-cream from Unilever and turning it into a big local name.
