Australia to launch beef campaign in South Korea

Australia will launch a campaign on its beef in South Korea to drum up competition against US beef which has entered Korean market shelves this week.

Reports say South Korea has been offering discounts to get rid of Australian beef or have delayed stocking Australian beef in market shelves in anticipation of the arrival of American beef.

Meat and Livestock Australia's Glen Feist says Korean traders have a couple of months of Aussie beef in store.

Feist said MLA have organised massive country-wide promotion and met with industry players to gain a significant cut in South Korean beef margin in preparation for an imminent competition with US.
