Brazil beef, chicken exports down in April
Exports of Brazilian beef and chicken dropped in April compared to March, the Foreign Trade Ministry said Wednesday (May 2).
Brazil shipped 248,100 tonnes of chicken in April compared with 285,000 tonnes in March. Average prices were US$1,355.30 a tonne, up from US$1,278.50 a tonne in March.
Beef exports for April declined to 105,700 tonnes compared with 125,500 tonnes in March. Average beef export prices were US$2,524.60 a tonne, up from US$2,442.40 a tonne in March.
Brazil is the world's no. 1 chicken and beef exporter.
