Bleak poultry market outlook holds China methionine prices soft

Prices of methionine dropped marginally during the week ending April 25.

Methionine market remained weak even though price falls were limited. Feed millers were reluctant to stockpile inventories while the outlook of the poultry markets looked bleak.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine fell to RMB28.40-28.80/kg.

Low consumption of poultry feed due to diminished inventories will hamper the sales of methionine, holding prices down in the coming period.
