Perstorp's new mould inhibitor ProSidâ„¢ MI 700

Feed additive producer Perstorp has launched ProSidâ„¢ MI 700, its newest product targeted towards mould inhibition.

Propionic acid proven ability as a mould inhibitor is well documented, and it is commonly utilised in feeds and grains. Formulated with propionic acid and propionic acid glycerol esters, ProSidâ„¢ MI 700 stops the growth of yeast and mould.

The product kills all types of yeast and mould while retaining all of the feed and grains' nutritional value. The liquid's low evaporation rate means that the product effects are more controlled and longer lasting, with less odours.

As it is less corrosive than pure propionic acid, risk during handling is lowered and ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) restrictions for transport and storage will not apply to its carriage.

The Perstorp Group produces specialty chemicals, with manufacturing units in 11 countries in Asia, Europe and North America.

SCHAUMANN launches vitamin B12 supplement for sows

Animal nutrition company, SCHAUMANN International, has introduced a new liquid vitamin B12 supplement, which helps to improve sows' health during their perinatal period.

SCHAUMANN SAUENFIT 1312 liquid supplement aids the energy metabolism and lowers the toll of the post-partum energy dip, in order to keep the sows at optimal health and ensure maximum piglet production.

Vitamin B12 plays a key role in a series of metabolic processes. It supports cell division, the formation of new cells, blood formation and the production of co-enzymes.

SCHAUMANN SAUENFIT 1312, with its high levels of vitamin B12, also helps to nourish sows in the post farrowing period, thereby hastening recovery from the birthing process. Field trials confirm increased vitality, faster farrowing and earlier milk let-down.

The liquid active ingredient is available as 6 x 1 kg containers and 10 kg containers. The required quantity can be added directly to the sow's trough at feeding times using the dosing unit, the company said.

SCHAUMANN is a supplier of mineral products and nutritional supplements for livestock diets and concepts for feed and production hygiene.
