Delacon's new director of innovation and research
Bohumir Simerda Ing has been appointed as director of innovation and research of Delacon - a pioneer phytogenics firm and the largest researcher, producer and distributor of plant-based feed additives in the world.
In his new role, Simerda will lead primary and applied research, trial facilities and product development for the global business.
In his capacity as CEO of Delacon Czech Republic, Simerda led the growth and expansion of Delacon across Central and Eastern Europe for the last 15 years. Simerda is a member of the Czech Scientific Committee for Animal Nutrition at the Research Institute of Animal Science.
New CEO and CFO in JBS Australia and US
Global animal protein producer JBS announces the appointment of André Nogueira as CEO of JBS Australia and Denilson Molina as CFO of JBS USA.
Nogueira was CFO of JBS in the US during the past four and a half years before he took on the position of CEO of JBS Australia.
Molina, 43, joined the group in 2011 having worked for over 18 years for Banco do Brasil, occupying various leadership positions. He will report directly to Don Jackson, CEO of JBS USA.
JBS Australia is the leading producer of beef and lamb in Australia. Two new JBS operating units are created in Australia, headed by two Operations Directors (COOs) who will report to Nogueira.
Brent Eastwood, who has been with the Company for the past 20 years, is the COO of the Northern Unit, overseeing Queensland and New South Wales. Sam McConnell, a long-time executive of the Company, will be COO of the Southern Unit, overseeing Victoria, King Island, South Australia and Tasmania.
Fancom appoints Paul Smits as managing director, Panningen
Paul Smits takes on the role of managing director for Fancom in Panningen from April 1, 2012, succeeding André Bakermans.
Smits graduated in mechanical engineering and production technology from the University of Twente with a master degree
In his new position, Smits brings his years of experience and knowledge of the agricultural business. As commercial director for the PigTek group of CTB, he was in charge of sales and marketing in Europe. Prior to that, Smits worked at Fancom for 13 years, first as project engineer, and later as marketing and innovation manager.
Smits says. "I am convinced that by the use of new technology and knowledge it is possible to balance the interests of the animal and all parties involved. The integral automation systems of Fancom continue to be leading in this."
Fancom develops automation systems for the intensive animal husbandry sector, with 35 years of experience in the pig and poultry sector. Headquartered in Panningen, the Netherlands, Fancom is a subsidiary of CTB.
Sanofi names senior vice president of Asia
French pharmaceutical company, Sanofi has appointed Bayer's former global head of animal health, Jean-Luc Lowinski as senior vice president of Asia with effect from May 1.
Lowinski previously held senior roles in various Asian countries, serving as head of operations in Singapore, India, Thailand, China and Japan during his time at Bayer.
Based in Shanghai, Jean-Luc Lowinski will report to Hanspeter Spek, President, Global Operations and will become a member of the Global Leadership Team of the Group.
He was appointed head of Bayer Healthcare China in 2003 and subsequently became head of Bayer Healthcare Asia Pacific and President, Bayer Yakuhin Japan in 2007. Since 2010, he was Global Head of the Animal Health Division at Bayer
Asia is an increasingly important market and building on Asia's performance is key in compensating for an anticipated loss attributed to increased generic competition for key products. The pharmaceutical company saw its revenues from Asia increase by 16.6% in 2011.
