Selling of Brazil's new soy crop reached 59 percent

 

 

Brazilian soy producers has sold 59 percent of an estimated new crop of 58.6 million tonnes by April 27. 

 

The figure is up from the 57 percent sold last week but behind the 65-percent sold a year ago, according to private analysts Celeres.

 

In the center-west, top soy state Mato Grosso has sold 72 percent of its crop, up from 70 percent the week before but lagging the 77 percent of a year ago.

 

Sales in southern Brazil were less impressive, with producers in Parana, the second-ranking soy state selling 43 percent of their expected crop against 42 percent the week before and 48 percent at this time last year.

 

The third largest soy state Rio Grande do Sul has sold 46 percent of its crop versus 45 percent the week before and 49 percent a year ago.
