China Whey Weekly: Slow hog herd building holds whey prices flat (week ended Apr 28, 2013)
Feed demand remained poor due to low piglet inventories and weak hog prices. Hence, feed producers limited whey purchases while cutting down the production of prime-grade hog feed. China imported 32,460 tonnes of whey in March, a sharp rise of 48% compared with February's 21,930 tonnes.
