EU region continue talks over possible sales of poisonous sausages
There are currently talks going on between meat producers and the Ministry of Agriculture in EU about possible poisonous sausages on sale at supermarkets.
The discussions are expected to continue for up to a month, the Deputy Director of The State Food and Veterinary Service, Zenonas Stanevicius stated.
According to local reports, sausages with E250 preservative become poisonous when they are cooked on an open fire. Despite this, the sausages are still being sold as picnic sausages or weekend sausages.
There has been no disagreement by meat producers that their sausages can become poisonous. However, the producers do not place labels on the sausages in aid of warning consumers of this possibility.
