China bans hog, hog product imports from more US states
China has banned hog and hog product imports from more US states with the spread of the swine flu outbreak, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine overnight.
Imports from New York and Ohio states have been banned immediately as there are 10 confirmed swine flu cases in the two states, said the administration in a joint statement with the Ministry of Agriculture published on its Web site.
From now on, US states affected by the swine flu outbreak will be automatically added to China's hog imports ban list, it said.
Earlier this week China banned hog and hog product imports from Mexico and the US states of Texas and Kansas.
